Hair Dryer Cake

Sculptured from 2 recipes of Moist Chocolate Cake. Cake layered and frosted chocolate ganache. Silver was airbrushed and hand-painted.
Customer's feedback: Faithhhhh (I actually had to count how many 'h' she typed, haha...) the hairdryer was superb!! What an awesome surprise and as usual dear, 10 thums up!! Hheheeheh.....

This was a short notice order by my neighbor and friend. She wanted to give this as a present to the 2 birthday boys, Bernard and Kashminder. They are both mobile magazine editors. With a budget given I started browsing the net for some straight forward mobile design and spotted Apple's iPhone. I used the camera mode screen to create this scene ;o)

Camera Cake Izam

Another camera cake. This time it's Red Velvet and life-size camera (actually slightly bigger than life size) on round cake. My loyal customer, Aida Ismail ordered this for her husband's 28th birthday. Time flies! Remember doing his birthday cake last year (fishing theme) and their wedding cake too.
3-recipe red velvet cake with carved out camera sitting on a 10" round. Love the piping on the board ;D
Customer's feedback: The party was a suiccess! Thx for the cake, it captured everyone's attention. All complimented the stunning look especially the real size camera cake! Can be further improved, cake taste quite bitter, I had to eat it with extra icing. Overall, we love the art piece! Thx Faith.

Computer Keyboard Cake for 5 birthday boys from Fujitsu.
2-recipe Moist Chocolate Cake layered and frosted with chocolate ganache.
Guys/gals, if you find the fondant is just too sweet for your teeth, discard it and enjoy the cake with the yummy ganache inside ;o)

Camera Cake - ARIQ

1-recipe American Chocolate Cake frosted with chocolate ganache. This cake was a bit of a pain because of the rainy days. Fondant was wet and soft and the chocolate ganache was smearing everywhere.... :-(

Camera Cake

This is a surprise birthday gift from Amizul's girlfriend. It was delivered to his office yesterday. His girlfriend said he was delighted and 'sayang nak potong' because it looked like the real camera :o)
1-recipe Lemon Cake with fondant. After doing the first one for Dr Hazli this is very much easier =P

iPod Cake

This one is ordered by Sharifah, another one of my repeat customers who ordered the Arsenal Jersey Cake and some other cupcakes. This iPod is for her brother, Azrin, who likes purple color.
1.5-recipe Oreo Cake with fondant.

Camera Cake

This one was a torture. Wonder whether it's worth the price paid for all the agony suffered in trying to get the shape and buttons and features right for Dr Hazli who loves his Canon EOS 40D. I practically had to run to and fro between my computer, with my sketches from photos sent to me, and my working table.
Dark and strong colors are definitely a torture in rainy season too. Due to the large amount of coloring used to arrive at the dark color fondant tends to be sticky and wet when it's humid. Even imported gel/paste colorings suffers the same fate...sigh....
1-recipe Lemon Cake with Lemon Crusting Buttercream and black and grey fondant.
Customer's feedback: Hi Faith, your cake was a hit. Many asked where it was from. (So if you don't think that was worth it, I don't know what is! :P) The lemon cake was really moist and yummy, and the fondant icing was just nice, not too sweet. Quite nice, not too sweet. Quite a good job in all :)
Faith's comment: "fondant icing was just nice, not too sweet"...haha...see how taste can differ

As the board looked so plain and empty I decided to put some black & white stars to make it look nicer.
