Customer's feedback : A lot of people didn't believe it was a cake. They actually thought it was a toy or a replica to a cake. So, i believe that's a good thing~ After the cake cutting ceremony, well it was my first time serving guests a two-tier cake so i didn't know how to cut it because i kept feeling something was blocking the way, and my mum cut it in the end cuz i was too scared to harm the cake, haha :p I asked around, a lot of people say the cake is delicious without the icing. Some say its nice the way it is, i believe they have sweet tooth :)

It's nice doing a 21st Birthday Cake for a pair of twin brothers! Terrance and Timothy's sister ordered the cake as a present to her brothers. Guess what they said? Basketball too childish la, better if those 2 are woman's breasts, haha....

Hip Hop 21st Birthday Cake

A hip hop themed 21st birthday cake for Ashvih who's into hip hop. This is my first airbrushed cake.
I wanted to create the rustic street look with graffiti. So, I took out my new airbrush and started brushing the white fondant with copper, orange, red and brown food colors.
3-recipe 12"x16" Moist Chocolate Cake frosted with chocolate ganache

I basically captured the birthday boy's look here with oval shaped face, trimmed mustache and a tiny line of beard running down the centre of his lower lip, shaven cheek, silver earrings, glasses and crude cut hair.

Cut out some plaques using flower paste and airbrushed them blue, red and purple before sticking the alphabets on.

The key, turntable and all the black color stars were highlighted with gold, silver, blue, silver spruce pearl dusts.

Topsy-Turvy for Gajan

This is a topsy-turvy (wonky) week for me. I did 2 topsy-turvy cakes enough to kill my back :p
4.5-recipe Moist Chocolate Cake frosted with chocolate ganache and covered with fondant. Gumpaste "21" dusted with silver lustre dust. Bought these funky letter cutters recently and Mr Gajan is privileged to be the first one to use them :o) They look easy but a pain to use because the letters were so fine and curl at certain angles. Fondant got stuck all the time. I had to resort to cutting them manually after impressing with the cutters....ghrrr....

This design was sent to me by my customer. She ordered this cake for her daughter's 21st birthday.
Size: 10"x4" square
Flavors: Super Moist Walnut Chocolate Cake bottom layer and Lemon Cake top layer
Icing: The 2 flavors were sandwiched frosted with lemon crusting buttercream before covering with fondant
Decorations: Gumpaste, RI and silk ribbons
