I personally delivered the cakes with my delivery guy just because of the wheels of the carriage. They had little support due to the size of the bottom cake being too narrow. Phew..the cake arrive in one piece without any mishap.
I met up with mummy Mariana and had a nice chat with her before taking this photo. The cakes got lost among the huge cardboard figurines ;o)

Wondering who is celebrating the birthday, the daddy who is a big Star Wars fan or little Leia, haha... Daddy bought Princess Leia's costume for his little princess Leia who turned one today. So, figurine is a replica of little princess Leia in her birthday 'suit'.

Had fun doing all the figurines but was also moaning because of swollen fingers, frozen shoulders and arm pain due to the hard kneading and modelling :(

Iryna's 2nd order: 2-recipe 7"x10" oblong Louboutin shoe and box cake. When I first looked at the shoe design sent by Iryna I wanted to faint #-} I actually requested for more designs to choose from, just in case this couldn't be done but was itching in my heart all the time, wanting to attempt this challenging feat. In the end I did it!!!
Cake flavor: Sugee Cake

It was a long process to make the shoe, from creating my own templates and making and drying each part patiently. All was in the mercy of the weather and none could be rushed ahead of the other.

My shoulders ached right up to my neck from the constant kneading and molding and struggling with shaping this shoe. By the time I started piping the dots, my eyes couldn't focus. Thank God all was done well =D

I hand-painted the logo but the next day 2 tiny holes appeared. Don't know what happen!!! Must be the paint melted the sugar....ghrr....I repainted another layer the next day.

Rubbish Truck Cake - A Labor of Love

A little boy was critically ill and his birthday wish was to have a cake that looks like a rubbish truck.
My pastry chef friend, Justin Wong was asked by a group of volunteers from an NGO, to do the cake for Iqbal. I availed my kitchen and Justin made the cake.
It was fun to do yet heart-breaking to know that this could be the last gift for Iqbal.

Brilliant idea of strawberry cake crumbs made into balls and wrapped in black fondant to make the begs of rubbish!

Everyone absolutely LOVED the cake. They were surprised indeed with all the attention to detail on the deco with their faces. My boss took home his figurine and asked how to store it :) The peanut butter filling is a contrast to the rich sweet cake. It was beautiful, indeed :) Thanks Faith!
Storage advice for figurine: Dry it in room temperature away from pests. Once it is dried thoroughly it can be stored for months and pests won't attack it.

I feel so honored to be able to do birthday cakes for the same person year after year. This one is another kid whom I made a Jungle Theme Cake which became a hit last year. This is her 3rd birthday cake and Danielle's mom chose Tinkerbell for her and named a few of her favorite things for inclusion into the theme. They are ladybirds, bees, flowers, red mushrooms, worms, snails and mouse!!! I added butterflies for her. Love the color combination of this cake =D
